Not a thoroughbred sports car, but rather a sporty, elegant touring and utility vehicle: the 190 SL, which was presented as a roadster in its final version at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1955, is stylistically closely based on the 300 SL racing coupe and promises to be the same A newly developed 1.9-liter four-cylinder engine with overhead camshaft delivered appealing performance on the road. How popular and successful the 190 SL really was is shown not least by the production figures: between May 1955 and February 1963, 25,881 examples of the touring sports car were built in Sindelfingen, the majority of them for the US market. As a miniature model, the 190 SL now enriches the local collection and impresses with its attention to detail. The model car is not only painted in the authentic color, but also has a faithful representation of all interior details. The vehicle's doors, hood and tailgate can be opened to provide a view inside. The precision model comes with an included hard and soft top. A screwdriver is included so that the model can be easily removed from the packaging. A glove to protect against fingerprints on the glass or the painted body completes the scope of delivery.
